Axiomatics Releases Best-in-Class Data Access Filter Upgrade

Axiomatics Launches Data Access Filter for Multiple Databases Upgrade to Enhance Easy-to-Use Configuration API and User Interface

CHICAGO (April 18, 2018) – Axiomatics, the leader in fine-grained dynamic authorization, today debuted an upgrade to its Axiomatics Data Access Filter for Multiple Databases, designed to deliver fine-grained dynamic authorization for data-centric security. Key enhancements include an improved user graphical user interface (GUI) and a new easy-to-use configuration API  to configure the tool.

The Axiomatics Data Access Filter MD provides context context-aware authorization to data with Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) policies, with the ability to apply dynamic filtering, dynamic data masking and unmasking, as well as working within common database queries. (Axiomatics was a featured vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security, 2017 for the data masking capabilities.)

Customers are using this solution for data-centric security, to protect the data layer, for use cases around privacy and compliance, information sharing with third parties, clinical trial data integrity, and enabling developers to work with production systems more readily. In all of these cases, the ability to apply a policy-based approach to what users are authorized to see has enabled the speed of business and improved the efficiency of processes – for analyzing and monetizing data, and getting new applications launched.

“Data has the potential to significantly increase productivity and raise revenue, but data is only useful if it is available to data users without jeopardizing its integrity or confidentiality,” said Pablo Giambiagi, vice president of strategic research at Axiomatics. “The upgraded Axiomatics Data Access Filter MD enforces this type of fine-grained dynamic authorization for users of data. This current release makes it even easier to configure authorization policies both for individual users and through APIs.”
