Axiomatics is First Organization to Attest Complete XACML 3.0 Specification Conformance

Stockholm, April 4 2011 – Axiomatics, one of the main innovators within the field of Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC), is proud to announce it is the first organization within the OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards) technical committee to attest that it has fully implemented the XACML 3.0 specification. XACML (eXtensible Access Control Markup Language), which lies at the heart of the company’s authorization solutions, is currently the only standardized way to implement the ABAC model.
“Since the first days of our operations we have been convinced that ABAC is the new paradigm in authorization management,” said Erik Rissanen, Axiomatics CTO and editor of the XACML 3.0 standard. “That’s why we have shown such strong commitment to the development of this technology over the past six years, bringing the result of our team’s earlier research in areas such as the Constrained Delegation model (The Admin and Delegation Profile), to the XACML 3.0 specification.”
XACML 3.0 has been through a number of drafts since development started in 2005. Now that it has reached the final stage, it will be approved as an OASIS standard once three committee members attest that their implementation complies with the specification.
“Our team works with the XACML standard on a daily basis and we contribute a lot of this knowledge and experience to the standardization process at OASIS,” said Babak Sadighi, Axiomatics CEO. “And of course, our solutions have always implemented the XACML 3.0 specification in the different stages of its evolution, something that has been highly appreciated by our customers.”
The Axiomatics Policy Server (APS) and the Axiomatics Policy Auditor (APA) have been chosen consecutively for the world’s largest XACML deployments, at Swedish National Health Care and PayPal, respectively. Moreover Axiomatics’ solutions are highly suited for regulated industries and can be found in use at enterprises around the globe within healthcare, finance, manufacturing and the public sector.
