Complex & Inconsistent Access Control

The company needed to move authorization logic out of its API Gateway, where permissions had become hard-coded and difficult to maintain. Over time, access control had evolved across multiple projects, resulting in delegation challenges, toxic combinations of permissions, and increasingly inaccurate legacy access controls. Before modernizing its approach, the organization wanted to audit existing authorization processes and establish a more consistent model that could support evolving security requirements and compliance initiatives, including FICAM standards.
