SailPoint and Axiomatics Partner to Bring Identity Governance to Attribute-Based Access Control

Stockholm, April 27 2011 – Integrated Solution Makes Run-time ABAC More Manageable and More Auditable
AUSTIN – SailPoint and Axiomatics today announced a strategic partnership to address the stringent security and compliance requirements around user access control and entitlement management. The integration of SailPoint Identity with the Axiomatics Policy Management Suite will allow organizations to cost-effectively manage access control policies across enterprise applications and authorization models with higher levels of auditability and consistency. By providing centralized visibility to access policies, the integrated solution will strengthen oversight and control, and help meet ever-increasing audit and compliance demands.
Through the partnership, enterprises using Axiomatics™ XACML-based entitlement management for fine-grained and attribute-based authorization for a variety of IT resources, including Java, .NET, Portals, and Web services, can now take advantage of SailPoint™s identity governance solution for added governance and compliance capabilities. SailPoint IdentityIQ complements the Axiomatics Policy Management Suite with the ability to review and certify run-time access policies and provides greater assurance of the accuracy and reliability of attribute sources. In addition, auditors and compliance staff gain a holistic view of users™ entitlements, roles, and run-time permissions that are spread across many application and authorization models.
“In order for our customers to take full advantage of run-time Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), they must be confident their IT system is both secure and compliant,” said Gerry Gebel, president of Axiomatics Americas. By partnering with SailPoint, our customers will be able to define fine-grained attributes to web- and client-services, as well as Java applications, and then verify those attributes and govern them as part of a holistic identity governance strategy. For the first time, they will be able to securely and compliantly manage who has access to what, what can be done with that access, and under what circumstances in a dynamic, run-time environment.
Our identity governance solution provides customers with a business-friendly dashboard to easily access the potential identity risks across the organization, said Darran Rolls, CTO of SailPoint. By adding our identity governance capabilities to Axiomatics™ solution, our customers will be able to govern fine-grained identity data for any major application regardless of where it lives. With this enhanced visibility into their identity data and authorization systems, organizations can determine the relative risk a user’s access poses and gain meaningful insights to make effective business decisions to remain secure and compliant.
